INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (March 7, 2024) – – Smart Apply®, makers of the Intelligent Spray Control System™ that helps growers of high value crops significantly reduce chemical use and costs, minimize environmental impact and capture data while spraying, today announced that Campbell Tractor is now an authorized Smart Apply dealer in Idaho and Oregon.
Smart Apply’s dealer network now includes nearly 450 locations in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Smart Apply authorized dealers provide local sales and support of the Smart Apply System to growers of tree fruits and nuts, wine and table grapes, hops, bush berries, and nurseries.
Campbell Tractor has been a John Deere dealer since 1940, providing ag solutions and services to southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon from six locations. Campbell Tractor has a robust Precision Ag team that works with high-value crop and row crop growers to leverage farm machinery with John Deere’s integrated agriculture management technology solutions that empower growers to make smart decisions for their crops based on data. The Smart Apply System can be integrated with the Deere Operations Center for more value from Campbell Tractor.
Smart Apply CEO Jerry Johnson personally welcomed Campbell Tractor to the company’s global network of dealers. “We’re very pleased that the Smart Apply System is now represented in Idaho and Oregon by Campbell Tractor, a John Deere dealership that is well known and respected by the region’s high-value crop growers. The timing couldn’t better as we’re heading into the 2024 growing season, and growers are highly motivated to find ways to reduce input and labor costs while continuing to optimize crop protection and sustainability.”
Commenting on the announcement, Campbell Tractor’s Corporate Operations Manager Scott Shillington said, “We are thrilled to add Smart Apply technology to our precision ag customer offerings. This cutting-edge system will help our growers significantly reduce chemical use and costs, minimize environmental impact, and capture data while spraying. It’s a game-changer for high-value crop production, and we’re excited to be part of this innovative solution.”
The Smart Apply System is the only precision spray system for high-value crops that combines LiDAR-enabled precision spraying and automated data collection and analysis during each spray session. The system is sold as a kit and can be retrofitted to virtually any new or used air blast, over-the-row or GUSS Autonomous sprayer. This replaces continuous spraying with chemical application to individual trees or vines based on size and foliage density. Nothing sensed, nothing sprayed. This results in an average 50 percent reduction in chemical use and associated costs, and up to 92 percent reduction in run off up to 92 percent and air borne drift up to 87 percent.
